Some of us were happy and busy making new friends, while others were frightened and crying. Since that time we have overcome our first fright. We have been happy together; we have quarreled together; we have laughed together. Indeed, we have had 12 years in which we have come to know each other quite well. In the eighth grade for the first time we began to change classes. We thought that we were indeed grown-up for only “high school could change classes. In August of 1954, we really awakened to the real high school for we were taking six subjects and were kept very busy. In the tenth grade we had an easier schedule for we were allowed some choice of subjects and we did not take so many subjects. Last year, the fun really began for we had our Junior Play, “Keep Moving. Then, of course, came the high light of the year our Junior-Senior Banquet. Other important events were the Christmas party, the day we ordered our rings and graduation night when we actually became SENIORS! At last on September second of 1957 we took over the Senior Room. At once we were the busiest class in school. V e had our Senior Play, “A Feudin Over Yonder.” Oh! what fun! Then came chicken suppers, hobo days, and other events to raise money for our long awaited class trip. Another big day came when we got our class rings. Remember how we gazed at our fingers as if they were the most beautiful fingers in the world. We have fussed about our teachers. We have called them names, said they didn’t know enough to teach us but alas! Oh! How wrong we were for now as we are nearing the end of our school years we look back and remember something very special about each teacher and the contribution they made toward the success of our school lives. From September second of 194 6 to May 29,1958, we have looked only forward to graduation but now as the day approaches we look over these 12 short years and remember with delight the fun we have had. We thought it would never end but now as we reach the end we realize how short the twelve years have been. All 28 of us: Carolyn Aldridge, Darrell Aldridge, Annelle Crews, Whitmer Crews, Mildred Crews, Rudolph Crews, Patsy Dean Griffin, Jimmy Carter, Margie Hale Chesser, Jimmy Cochran, Linda Dowling, Stanley Counce, Ocie Edwards, D.A. Hutchison, Iris Griffin, Wallis Larkins, Azalee Griffin, Darrell Lee, Ruby Lee King, Billy Lee, Elizabeth Lee, Joseph Riggins, Betty Lane, David Thrift, Alpha Strickland, Billy Stone, Edgar Howell, and Sondra Ammons leave our dear school with fond memories to recall when we are gone. By Sondra Ammons Historian CU4. 7Vdl We, the senior class of 1958, os our preparations for our place in the Hydrogen Age draws to a close, and in view of the fact that we believe ourselves to be of sound mind and body, do hereby make this our last will and testament. I, BETTY LANE leave my shortness and curly hair to Mary Alice Stone. I, RUBY LEE KING, leave my car to Jean Hickox. Take it and go places! I, DARRELL ALDRIDGE, leave my size to “Baby Wallace Lee. I, WALLIS LARKINS, leave my brilliant chemistry experiments to Johnny Jones—stand back, Juniors! I, BILLY LEE, leave my ability to stay quiet in classes to Tommy Aldridge. I, AZALEE GRIFFIN, leave to the Junior Class my motto: “Think what you please but it pays not to say it, hoping that they will stick closer to it than I did. SeiUvi (flate, 'P% yfi£ectf Ever since the famous astronomers, EDGAR HOWELL and his assistant, RUBY LEE KING, noticed an unusual object on the moon the whole world has been terrified. The Air Force has call- ed out their most reliable man, D.A. HUTCHISON, to lead the investigation. Even the well known play-boy, BILLY STONE, is frightened so the first woman president, BETTY LANE, has given him the protection of two policewomen, MILDRED and ANNELL CREWS. Many people have given their views on what the object is, but the most conceivable one is the one given by RUDOLPH CREWS. Mr. Crews, who i s the president of Surefly Airplane Corporation seems to think it is one of his former employees, JOSEPH RIGGINS. He says MR. RIGGINS was last seen working on his top project, his moon rocket, when it blew up. Every one in the plant joined in the search of the whole area, even his secretary, AZALEE GRIFFIN and the two janitors, JIMMY CARTER and DAVID THRIFT, but he wasn’t found. A nearby farmer, WALLIS LARKINS, reported an object going straight up, that resembled a man but he said that he could not identify him. The Secretary of Defense, DARRELL ALDRIDGE, has made a plea for supplies to be sent to the moon so if the object is JOSEPH, he can be comfortable. The chief librarian of the Library of Congress, SONDRA AMMONS has donated a book of poems by IRIS GRIFFIN and the chief nurse of the Red Cross, ALPHA STRICKLAND, has given many medical supplies. And that famous recording star, WHITMER CREWS, donates his album and a portable record player. The Paramount Movie Company is very interested in the RIGGINS situation because they plan to use the moon as the location for their next movie Earth Men Invade the Moon which will star those two new discoveries, LINDA DOWLING and STANLEY COUNCE. The director, DARRELL LEE, is going to join MR. HUTCHISON, in the investigation because he believes that RIGGINS can give valuable information that will help him in the filming on the moon. MRS. MARGIE CHESSER and MRS. PATSY DEAN GRIFFIN are the most interested women because they are trying to find a place to send their husbands when they are not cooperative and they think that MR. RIGGINS can tell them how to get their husbands up there. JIMMY COCHRAN, the insurance salesman, hopes that RIGGINS arrived safely because Riggins has a policy with him. OCIE EDWARDS, the private secretary for President BETTY LANE has revieled information that RIGGINS has built a radio and has sent a message to earth saying that he is not hurt and is enjoying himself looking at the earth every night. CAROLYN ALDRIDGE, a bookkeeper for BILLY LEE, the owner of the Hoboken Gazette, our local newspaper, has stated that she overheard MR. LEE assign his best press agent, ELIZABETH LEE, to the RIGGINS situation. ■SPY 'I?-' V . rv .
