PA THERS A D FOOTB LL SI When the season started this year, we started with a bang. We took them in succession: Lue - den - 28 to o, Snyder - B - as to o, Divide - 35 to o, HE! Then it came, what you hate to hear most but it is all in the game so ---- Robert Lee - 20 to 13 in their favor. The next week we got back in the groove to beat Bronte - 19 to 0. The next week we journeyed to Coahoma to receive our second defeat bya score of 12 to 0, It was in that game that we lost the service of Bill, in the first of the first quarter, with a broken rib, We held them off until the last three minutes, when they intercepted two of our passes and ran for touchdowns, The next week we came into contact with Trent, but lady luck was not with us again, and we re- ceived another defeat by a score of 13 to 6. That put us right out of the race. The next Friday we left home for the last time. It was to go to Ira. We had a good night there and came home with a score of 46 to 0. The next Friday, was the game that we had all been waiting forg it was the game with Loraine, It was also the homecoming game, After a hard fight we got a victory of E toibut to us it was as good as 100 to 0. Then came the time for the coaches to get together and elect an all-district team, We had some good boys on it, they were Leland Driver, Bill Etheredge and Pud Neves. Driver and Etheredge were on it the year before, Next year both Pud and Bill will be back for another try at that all-district birth witha lot of other good players from Hobbs, So go on boys we are back- ing you all the way, With three boys on the all-district team and just losing three games, also scoring 214 points to our opponents 515 in my book that's a pretty good ball club. Don't you think so?
