JuNloR PROPHECY Hello, everybody, this is your friendly station HOBBS broadcasting from occupied Russia bringing you the latest in gossip of various items and famous people, You know since this is homecoming day at my high school alma mater, Ican't keep from thinking of the class of 1952, not that it was such an outstanding class, but because each individual has made worth-while progress in their individual fields. Just the other day while preparing to come on the air I read an account of one of the stars of that season, Leland Driver, After high school, he enrolled in A. C, C, and after four years of hard playing, helping to bring many honors to the school in athletics, he was offered a job as coach for T, C, U, , but decided to come home and take Coach Hodges' place, who, by this time was in very poor health from losing so much sleep in past years trying to play all the schools in the district basketball, Then, of course, Leland found out that the sweetest girls were close to Home, Sweet Home. You know, every time I think of girls I can't keep from thinking of the only two in the senior class, Donna Io, after all the dreamy looks and sighs passed in Howard's direction, finally found out she didn't have the energy and talent for arguing with him and placed her affections on a preacher who is doing good work in the local church. However, Mary Lou is a very successful business woman. She found out in high school that men do not mean everything they say and has been shy of them ever since. I suppose all of you know your local gas dealer, lvin Martin. He is always ready to serve you with a smile, and he seems to be making a nice sum of money since he took over Dad Burnett's gas business, but, goodness me, he needs a lot of money to support all those girls he now has 17, I thinkj. Chester Roy is farming at County Line on the old home place. He was undecided just what voca- tion to follow, but since there wasn't much work to do there Qyou know it seldom rains therej he decided to stay. Jackie Cave is still breaking hearts, He teaches at Draughn's during the day and is crooning over the local station at night. He has composed several songs, the most popular being Oh, Where has My Little Dog Gone? Elbert Lee finally found that girl of his dreams, He is now the janitor at Hobbs High and really keeps the place looking nice, especially the lunchroom. Cayton, 'who chose a military profession, has been promoted to Captain, I-le has finally learned tc give orders with a command. Truett, who was always proud of his ability to win the women, and of his good looks, has made several motion pictures, I read the other day where Mrs, T, Eaton, No. 4, was suing for divorce, Donald Wray has been successful in many things, He has a large ranch, a beautiful ranch home, and still drives a private bus from his ranch horse to school, However, all five of the plump little frecklefaced girls who ride it belong to him. Howard Denton, who had the ability to be a good lawyer since he never gave up an argument, de- cided after several serious quarrels with his clients fthey were wrestlersj to give it up. He is now lec- turing at schools for P, T, A, groups on the subject that CRIME DOESN'T PAY. After gallivanting around in Roby, Rotan, Hermleigh, and Abilene, Willie decided to settle down at Hobbs and try to go with the Hobbs girls again so he won't have to buy more than 31. 00 worth of gas at a time, Mr, Taylor finally decided his talents were not suited to being superintendent, He is now warden of the state penitentary, His chief delight is telling the inmates about the things he did when he was a KID. ' Mrs, Noles got so much experience in giving advice to the couples at Hobbs that she now sits at home in her rocking chair and writes a Lonely Hearts column for the local paper, Well, time's up, Tune in next year for more gossip and news of Hobbs High School, .
