SUMMER HHS students spent the last summer of the 1970’s many different ways. Some stu- dents spent their summer partying or on the beach, while others began working on the building trades house. Many students had summer jobs at fast-food joints, sports shops, fruit markets, the animal clinic, grocery and shopping stores. Many of the students enjoyed part of their sum- mer attending camps such as cheerlead- ing, girls and boys state, music, band and journalism. Others participated in sports such as girls softball, here one of the girls teams won the state championship and went to Texas for the National Tourna- ment. The Hobart Big League went to the State Tournament and finished third. Some just laid back and enjoyed the sun and warm weather, all the time knowing that school would begin again much too soon. And back to that same old grind at HHS or for the senior, a totally new exper- ience at a college where a whole new way of life would soon begin for them. And knowing their summers from now on will never be quite the same. 14 Summer Life
