WISE Director of Attendance and Child Welfare Welcome on Our Journey Mr. Buell Crum, principal, discusses the duties of vice-principal with Mr. Charles Mc- Murtry, who came to Hobart this year from Kouts. As vice-principal Mr. McMurtry is in charge of all guidance and activities and in addition is a senior sponsor and teacher of a health and safety class. Mildred Lenburg, bookkeeper; Grace Zula, fi- nancial secretary; Flo Pugh, secretary are in charge of the clerical duties in the superintendent’s office. Mr. Howard Yunker, junior high principal; Miss Do rothy Thompson, dean of girls; and Mr. Russell Deal, dean of boys, are always ready to help students with their problems.

Whom have you met at Hobart High during this school year? We’ve had the pleasure of having as companions on our journey two students, with such pleas- ant personalities, from foreign countries — Longin Grezczuk who came to Hobart from Poland by way of South Africa and England, and Bunny Wambolt from Can- ada. Not only have our fellow travelers come from abroad but also from nine other states and many neighboring schools. “Peafrle 7De TJieet... As they buckled down to their books, students had a number of new faculty names to learn. Miss Barbara Bush was directing traffic in the cafeteria while Mr. Tom Bishop hunted for a corner to call his own in the busy band portable. Mr. Wayne Collins checked and re-arranged tools in the machine shop and meanwhile Mr. John Radovic was already running off office record blanks in the print shop. Upstairs Miss Wahneta Mullen was hanging Spanish posters and pictures in room 302, while Mr. Charles McMurtry had been settled in the vice-principal’s glassed-in corner for several weeks. Many times our most perplexing problems have been solved by some member of the faculty who was willing to spend some of his time listening to our difficulties and then offering us helpful advice. Yes, we’ve met many very wonderful people. Our friendly mayor stops to visit at the study hall door with the four class presidents, even as all of us have visited with our friends in that familiar spot. May this help to remind us of the many friendly people at Hobart High.
