Al .-1: S., ,M .ff--at E-W7 -Q HOME EC. Our study of Homemaking has been broadened by a few additions to the Home Ec. Department. nr one thing, a laundry unit, including an automatic washer and dryer, has been installed. Also, Baby Jane, with her complete layette, arrived last fall soon after school opened. She has made e study of Infant Care more interesting and effective. Class work has also been made easier by the addition of new ceiling lights, enhancing a newly corated wall. The room was made more functional with a newly constructed utility cupboard by r. Dean and his boys. Before the holiday season the 11th and 12th grade classes did a few projects in crafts, culmina- nn, the study of the importance of hobbies. These projects include reed bun baskets and casserole sh holders. Coasters were made from leather on which attractive designs had been tooled. Dainty col- 'ed aluminum serving trays were shaped and etched in beautiful designs. After the holiday season, the department took on an air similar to that of an upholstery shop, men an old chair was completely refinished and re-upholstered by the class. 1 PHYSICS The Physics class in co-operation with the other science .classes are preparing a program of dem- istrations to be given at the Penny Fair this year. We think this will be informative as well as an itertaining program. Some of the projects now in the process of being developed are? Transmis- on of sounud with light-Carol Yoh, Automobile ignition system-7Dave McCracken, Flying Saucers -Sandra Schaffner, Radiant Energy.. -Carl Rogers, Physical properties of matter and low temperature -Don Girod. Others are on the drawing boards. See you at the fair.
