ccgig Jima: STREAK 01 Ll 'CK Basketball games have come and gone but fans will seldom witness a spectacle such as we have witnessed at the Oakwood game on November 20, 1956. With 3 seconds to play in the 1st quarter our 6 ft. 6 inch center grabbed the ball from the defensive board, knowing that he would have no time to set up a play involving his teammates, he took the ball in one hand, while standing under the opponents basket, literally threw it at the oppo- site wall. As spectators watched with little hope, the ball went through the basket without touching the rim. Some fans have even mistaken the shot for a pass.
