Text from Pages 1 - 60 of the 1979 volume:

ree T1 s F 'JI 4 Joan Burghardt Dorothy McLarty Dedication Joan Burghardt and Dorothy McLarty began as school employees twelve years ago. Within that time they have served approximately 125,000 meals. As lunchroom cooks, they have come in contact with around 200 different students. The seventh and eighth grade students unanimously chose to dedicate the 1979 Trojan to joan'Burgha1-dt and Dorothy McI.ar1.y for the many years of service to the school and the cominunity. This honor is not bestowed just for the quanity of years served, but also for the quality with which those years have been served. Gigi? 'BQ' edt? gf ' 'li .4 I . e P v , .L A 3 ' 14:1 ' MA M., . X 1 The Trojan Staff As you look through the pages of the 1979 Trojan, the annual staff would like for you to ponder about the drama that life holds for each of us. Perhaps Shake- speare compared it better than any when he said: All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrancesg And one man in his time plays many parts. We, however, believe that God did not create us as puppets. He gave us the freedom to choose our part, but with Him as our director besides the author, we can look forward to a happy ending. On the li hter side we ho e ou en'o our ton ue-in- S P Y J Y S cheek comparisons ,of some modern soap operas to the people and happenings around our school. 1 ul ' - v lu W9 ,Iona Rice Coeditor gm VT Craig Dobrinski Coeditor yearbook . FP.,-u., f - .vw a A Hitchcock student spends around 9,700 hows of his life in our school before he or she graduates. The school tries to design- and provide a variety of activities during these hours. These include a set of circumstances or experiences in which he can gain not only knowledge, training, and discipline , but also a development of character which will enable him to become a productive and successful citizen. As you drive by the Hitchcock School on any given day when school is in session, even though the voices might be stilled on the play ground and the swings hang limply on their rod, remember that within a great drama is taking placethe development of a human being. 1--fm , ' l i .- m.-s..qg:.-'Jig': gi...-1:5 t '59 ,, . ,-. s s.. -K, -N , '!
