The HIRSCHI HUSKIES began the season with one of the most difficult schedules ever. Among opponents the Huskies faced were LAWTON, the number one team in Oklahoma: WICH- ITA FALLS HIGH SCHOOL, number one in Class AAAAg RIDER, District contender in AAAAQ BROWNWOOD, de- fending AAA State Championg and IOWA PARK, Class AA Champion. From the first game against the Rider Raiders, the Huskies showed spectators that the peach-fuzz gang had REAL whiskers as they tied the score 6-6. The Huskies outplayed Brownwood in all statistics but lost by a score of 7-6. The mini-brigade of twenty-four players consistently launched full-scale attacks against op- posing teams causing the mighty Hawks of Iowa Park and the Burk Bulldogs to fall by the wayside. Though the team was dotted with only four seniors, two of these returning starters Doug Hines and Edwin Quintero, the band of fiery young newcomers ended the season with a 5-4-1 record. 1971 SCHEDULE Sept. 10 RIDER 6-6 Sept. 17 LAWTON 0-21 Sept. 22 WFI-IS 0-42 Oct. 8 BROWNWOOD 6-7 Oct. 15 GRAHAM 12-15 Oct. 22 WEATHERFORD 21-0 Oct, 28 VERNON 13-12 Nov. 5 STEPHENVILLE 14-0 Nov. 11 BURKBURNETT 14-7 Nov, 19 IOWA PARK 12-6 G P w X 1 F , 3 n ' A I ,W .f A I .f f, Ka ,new ' ew M l, K rg? i a .5 v I My 'N : Y 31 Go, Fight Win!
