D. Dedicah ' on The Husky Staff takes pride hi dedicating the 1964 edition of the yearbook to all Hirschi High School students. Through the students ' efforts the school has been able to establish an en- viable reputation for good citizenship in Wichita Falls and for good conduct wherever its representatives went into competition. The whole group has shown exceptional enthusiasm and spirit which led last spring to the presentation by the Times Publish- ing Company of the Good Neighbor Award Trophy. We, the members of the Husky Staff, have attempted to reflect in this book the fine spirit of the school and to record the accomplish- ments which resulted from the combined efforts of patrons, faculty and students. A member of the Board receives little recognition for many hours spent working hard. We owe our sincerest thanks to these people who devote much of their time and energ)- to solving the prob- lems of the school. CHARLES PROTHRO IKARD SMITH MRS. LARRY J. DOING DICK HARRIS DR. W. Interested in every student, he is seen daily walk- ing the halls ready to give praise when it is deserved or to scold if necessary. Mr. Neal has had twenty-three years of service in public education, thirteen as a dean of boys, eight as a teacher, and two as a principal. From the English Department at Hirschi, a student receives a wealth of knowledge through a well-organized program of literature and grammar. With ' the knowledge gained in the communication skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, the student is better prepared to become a good neighbor. Such projects as the pilgrimage of characters from Chaucer ' s Civiterhury Tales head the list of achievements in the field of literature. The enthusiasm displayed by each student in all English activities is a great contribution to the school spirit found at Hirschi. % ' .¥ j • .4 MISS LOIS REAVES B.A. Texas Woman ' s University MRS.
