MISS MARIE A. McCAHEY, CUR NEW PRINCIPAL e come fo you, MISS MCCAHEY Today, throughout the nation, the responsibilities of the high school prin- cipals are greater than ever before. The huge tasks of preparing their students to take their places in this war torn world, and of training them to aid in the Post War reconstruction, are but a few of their many responsibilities. To be equal to such a trust requires a person of exceptional ability to lead and to lend sound advice. We at HIRSCH are extremely proud to have just such a person in our principal, Miss Marie A. McCahey: and it is to her that we, the students of the Senior Classes of Iune 1943, and February l944, dedicate this issue of the MAROON. TO OUR HIRSCH STUDENTS: We are living in a tumultuous era which calls for inspiration and fore- sight in the daily conduct of our lives. Nationally and individually, we are constantly made aware of the importance of one great asset . . . time! Our young men and women of high school age have a new consciousness and apprecia- tion of the relationship of time ex- penditures to their future, and they are meeting the national emer- gency with calm deliberation and a thoughtful planning of their time and action. Theirs is a simple but great cour- age. May they guard it well . . . -sf as the flame which will light the f' way and carry them through! Marie A. McCahey, Principal . 'I .
