HIISS HURIIEU, HSSISTHIIT PRIIIUPHL Who can, merely by her presence in Nicholson Hall, gain a respectful and interested silence from five hundred noisy. giggling students? Who else at Hirsch is respected and admired so much by faculty and students? No one but that small figure, distinguished by her auburn hair, and brown eyes snapping with energy-who helps to keep our great wagon rolling . . . MISS MARGARET HURNEY! 5.4 UPPER CENTER, Main Office, STANDING: Miss Rose Fried- mang Mrs Gertrude Kuehn, head clerk. SEATED: Miss Helen McMahon. UPPER RIGHT, Library, STANDING: Mrs. M. Lotts, I-lead librarian. SEATED: Mrs. C. Becker. LOWER LEFT, Adjustment Office: Miss E. O'Keefe. LOWER RIGHT, Careers Sponsor: Miss S. Fisher. l'4l uvxee Q ll Home of the officialdcm of Hirsch-place where all the merits and such go down as mere ink on paper, frigidaire where many a shivering stu- dent has waited for impending judgment, or has been called for congratulation and help-the in- despensible bottleneck for Hirsch affairs-the office forms the most important wheel of our bandwagon. Not only steering the students through their high school days, by rearranging programs, plan- ning their courses, advising them what to take, but also serving as a college bureau, and an employment agency. perhaps the students lean most heavily on the right-hand forewheel-the Adjustment Office. What is a school without students? To insure against Hirschites forgetting to come to classes once in a while, or failing to understand that first period means 8:00 A. M. on the dot, the attend- ance office is holding up its end of the wagon. The Hirsch library gives the busy student a chance for extra study, the ordinary student a source for homework, and the lazy student a chance to catch up on neglected work. Efficiency. quiet, and great store of books make it a wel- come presence holding up the final corner of the bandwagon.
