SENIOR CLASS HISTORY It was on the mornmg September 4 1947 that the present Semor class home less and lost lookmg were f1rst found IH the halls of Hmton H1gh School In our Freshman year we were all qulte shy but It wasn t long unt1l some of us were mmg lmg with the upper class men whlle all th1s t1me we were wxshmg we could be l1ke them Flnally a lnttle nerve was found from somewhere and our class offlcers were elected The offxcers were R1chardMeador Pres1dent Buddy Hayes V1ce Presldent Patsy M1ll1gan Secretary and Treasurer We even went so far as to put on two plays the flrst one be1ng Fugltxves From Hmton Hlgh School We presented our next one Just before Xmas It was called Muggsy s Merry Chrlstmas When our Sophomore year had rolled around we had lost most of our greenness and we entered school w1th prxde and confldence After our class offlcers were elected we all started m for some honest to goodness work and made our Sophomore year very successful Our offlcers dur1ng that year were Jane Terry Presldent Buddy Hayes Vice Presxdent, and Ne1l1e Canterbury Secretary and Treasurer Then came the long awa1ted,event when we became Jumors We were now one of the upper class men we had 1dol1zed wh1le we were Just Freshmen We chose as our class colors green and whlte The Wh1te Rose was dec1ded on for our flower, and our motto was Forward Ever Backward Never The .Tumor play Gabrlel Blow Your Horn , by W1ll1am Ellis Jones 1n wh1ch Patsy M1ll1gan Davxd Hess Rlchard Meador, and Phyllls Cales had the leading parts recelved much praise That year we also won second prize for our booth ln the lntramurals Offlcers for our .Tumor year were Lottie Wllson President Jane Terry Vlce Presldent Patsy M1ll1gan Secretary and Nellxe Canterbury Treasurer Of course the hlgh lxght of that year was our .Tumor Semor Banquet and Prom honor1ng the Semors The banquet and dance was Plrates The decorating commlttee worked hard and the stage was transformed 1nto a Plrate ship Since then the ranks have decreased a l1tt1e blt and here we are gO1Ilg through our Semor year Dav1d Hess was chosen as Presldent of the class Rxchard Meador, Vice Presldent, .To Ann D1l1on Secretary and Phyllxs Cales as Treasurer Our fxrst event of any lmportance was the talent show glven by the class presented 1n November and was well received Each of us were found provxng ourselves more worthy of our motto, Forward Ever Backward Never Our last part of the Semor year was crowded by act1v1t1es Fxrst the semor play then Sneak Day followed by the C1t1zen shxp Pageant the Commencement Sermon Commencement exercxse, and the Farewell Banquet and Dance We were all sat1sf1ed w1th the results of our last year Thus IS completed the four year hxstory of the Semor Class of 1951 Carole W1111amS 1 1 . . . , . . - 1 ' 1 ' 1 1 1 1 1 1 ' 1 , . . , . . , . - - , . . , , 1 1 - , . .
