Varsity Cross Country has its best year

Phil Whitaker. Coach Karnstedt. Only a team mate can know how you feel. 20 Hinsdale South is still in the running. This year the Hornet running machine had a tremendous season finishing second in the DPVL. The winningest team in South’s history even managed to better last year s fine record. Four of its members put forth outstanding efforts making them all conference runners. They were John Reichl, Bob Patrick, George McDaniel and Mike Miller. John Reichl and his team brought home seven trophies and over sixty medals.

The team worked hard all season long to develop their running skills. The time and effort paid off as they came in first place in the D.P.V.L. conference meet, second in the Hins- dale South Invitational and, third in the Ottawa Invitational.
