TIIE FIIIR IHAGE Aboard the S S Hmsdale We set sa11 from the harbor on the coast of the eighth grade 1n the year 43 on a foggy dreary day when suddenly, through the m1st came yes, you guessed It D1Ck Sherwood He d1dn't qu1te make 1tl Captain Sm1th Uohn that IS, al1as Bob Johnson, had just f1n 1Sh6d g1v1ng a stlrrmg speech to the crew as to the dangers and hardsh1ps that we would encounter durmg the four long years lt would take us to reach the other s1de We started out w1th lst Class Petty Officer Lowe, 2nd Class Petty Ofhcer Stunson Bos'n Mate Montaro, Chzef Cook and Bottle Washer Wagner, Sxgnal Man SOW1I1Sk1 and our crew C Lute, H Learn B Weatherall I Evanco, B Bell, F W1ll1a.ms I Bryant, and F Stunson In 44 we sighted a new shlp floatmg in the sea and plcked up Electric1an's Mate A Mott and dropped many members of our or1g 1na1 crew who dec1ded to take the1r chances on a new sh1p, LIFE We had an uneventful voyage durmg '45 and 46 The waters remamed calm and all went well To celebrate the success of the th1rd year of our voyage, we held a banquet and mv1ted the semor members of the crew As th1s account 1S being wntten, land is but another two months away and though we st1ll have the dangerous reefs Kregentsj to maneuver through we are all looking forward to leavlng the b1g ocean lmer and steppmg 1nto the American Airlines Flagship for our tr1p to New York MOTTO We w1ll fmd a path or make one FLOWER Yellow rose COLOR Blue and yellow lg A l . , . . . . - B.
