ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY who does that man at the front desk think he is? We ' re in high school now— don ' t need to be told what ' s right and wrong. And yet, he was once a member of our class, too. Could it be he learn- ed more of life as he left his high school years behind? He offers us more than sine laws, atomic formulas, or Hamlet ' s solilo- quy. He teaches us a way of life, a thought for the day, a standard to live by. He ' s shown us life from a new per- spective. IT ' S A MEMORY . . . For the seniors, it ' s all over. June and graduation . . . Three years becoming dim and indistinct— blurred . . . The morning announcements; the thought for the day; the menus that ought to change; the 3:30 bus; The parties— Little Richard blaring on the stereo The smell of Weymouth Arena, a mixture of cold and cigarette smoke- Things we were a part of, but gone now. Adminisi PRINCIPAL Paul H. Farris At great risks our forefathers se- cured and passed on to us some of the great blessings of liberty and freedom. Each generation is on trial to defend and extend these privi- leges and rights. Let us not in our drive for security and prestige lose sight of the ultimate goals of life. Material security can be one of the great enemies of mankind. Free- dom and liberty may be secured at a great cost. No price is too high to pay. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Dr. John H. Lawson To The Graduates: To look is one thing. To see what you look at is another. To understand what you see is a third. To learn from what you understand is still something else. To act on what you learn is what really matters. This anonymous quotation lists many of the essentials of an educated person in the year 1964. You have had the opportunities in the Hingham schools to proceed well on the way to your goals. Your future progress will be determined on how you act on what you have learned. It is with great pride that I offer my congratulations to the 1964 graduating class which has set high stand- ards for future classes to emulate. HINGHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE L to R: Nelson N. Cochrane, Walter F. Schucard, Edward M. Lewieckl, Ian S. Menzies, Robert A. 12
