After a brief business meeting, Mr. Bartlett described the curriculum and the organiza- tion of a typical school day. Following the meeting the parents visited the various classrooms where each teacher explained his subject matter. During the evening the Student Council sold refreshments.

ADMINIS ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT C. W. LAMONTAGNE Unfortunately for me, I have entered upon your public school education just at the time when you are preparing to leave it; however, may I wish you success as you go forward from the Hingham Schools. Possibly the follow- ing thought as expressed by a very wise and humble man, Ralph Waldo Emerson, will mean something beyond what I, a stranger, can convey: Shall I tell you the secret of a true scholar? It is this: Every man I meet is my master in some point, and in that I learn of him. SUPERINTENDENT DR. JOHN H. LAWSON To the 1962 Hingham High School Graduates The aim of education should be to con- vert the mind into a living fountain, and not a reservoir. — John M. Mason As you leave Hingham High School and start in a new field of endeavor, success will abound if you can follow the advice of John Mason as you put into practice the training received from your parents, teachers, and clergy. My warm congratulations and best wishes are extended to each of you.
