Without it thought can never ripen into truth . . . Inaction is cowardice, but there can be no scholar without the heroic mind. The preamble of thought, the transition through which it passes from the unconscious to the conscious, is action . . . The true scholar grudges every op- portunity of action passed by, as a loss of power. It is the raw material out of which the intellect molds her splendid products ... he who has put forth his total strength in fit actions has the richest return of wisdom. The football team, under Mr. Anderson, Mr. Buckly, and Mr. Vafides, had an outstanding season. The season ' s first touchdown was scored with an 80 yard kickoff return against Danvers. After defeating Abington and Newton South, the Harbormen wal- loped Stoughton 50-14. Interception of a pass and a 60 yard run spurred Hingham to a 22-6 win over Canton. Our speedy backfield outran and outplayed both Wellesley and Portsmouth, N. H. In the most outstanding game, Hingham smashed the favored North Quincy team. On Thanksgiving Day, Hingham valiently fought a strong Archbishop Williams only to succumb to the powerful Bishops. O. ,-, o. c ,n t 2 S2 BO 73 47 83 ' .85 JUNIOR VARSITY TEAM SEATED: J. Saconey, W.
