Makiko Hibi, our Japanese visitor from Japan. Inheriting my parents ' interests, I love to listen to music, both classic and popular. From my childhood, I loved to go to concerts with my parents. I remem- ber although I could not understand lOusic, I liked the atmosphere— everything v ' as quiet except, those attractive sounds from different instruments. For my future, I have chosen the vocation of teach- ing. Sorhetimes people say that teaching is common- place. It may not be a great business. Still I believe teaching human beings is sublime work, which I love. Now, thanks to hundreds of people, I am having the most wonderful experience in America. I am deeply impressed with many new people who have been very nice and kind to me. I cannot believe any dreadful war among such wonderful people. So I firmly believe that we youngsters who will make up the next generation can maintain the peace all over the world. I was born on a cold winter morning, December 8. I have been brought up as one of my parents ' four daughters, happily, but rather strictly. I was an ex- tremely active and spirited girl until I entered the private mis- sion school, Kaisei Girls ' School from the public school. This great change affected me, especially mentally. I got certain faith as the guide of my spirit.
