THE HARBORMEN ' S VOYAGE THROUGH ' 54 by JOAN HENNINGSEN With Coach Pres Barry and assistant coach, Tom Brennan at the bow, making sure their boys were in top shape for the first game of the season, the Harbormen were guided through North Quincy with a 13-13 tie. The following Saturday found the Harbormen back on course again with a 27-0 victory over Plymouth. Whitmon and Barnstable came in view but our ship moved on and kept its course with two ties: 6-6 and 13-13. Hingham was at its peak Turkey Day facing Rockland. Although the weather man was against us, spirit was with us and the Harbormen walked off the field with a 14-0 victory. Our port was finally reached and although co-captains Johnny Bray and Tiger Doyle assisted by Dave Muncy, Bruce Gillespie, Dave Spratley, Jack Tibbetts, Bob Richner, Pete Merlino, John Bancroft, Mike Burns, Steve Boynton, John Fuda, John Schinas, Manford Betts, Jimmy Marshall, and William Bauman won ' t be on on board again, the Harbormen will be back on course in the fall of ' 55.
