They were dressed as follows: Girls wore long underwear, old shirts, silk stockings, high-heeled shoes, a cow bell tied around their waist, and their hair was braided in three pig tails. They carried their books in a bran sack. The boys wore dresses, bedroom slippers, long bloomers with stockings over them, and a band of hen feathers around their heads. They also carried their books in bran sacks. That evening at the town hall the Sophomores planned a program of stunts for all the Freshmen. The Reception was held on September 22, at the 'town hall.
