We defeated Weeks School, Jericho, and Shelburne for three league wins good enough for fourth place in the Champlain Valley League. The team had no one outstanding player or high-scorer. On the first team during the year were Bobby Plante, Bobby Francis, ,Toby Parent, Conrad Ballard, Ernest Millham, Pat Pal er, John Pierce and Howard Riggs. Other players were Leroy Smliih, Paul Traux, Tommy Shea, Paul Emmons, Sidney Pierce, Stanley Bissonette, and Richard Mitchell. The fact that three Senior boys will not be back next year does not darken the hopes for next year because the seventh and eighth team finished first in their league. The boys selected Howard Riggs and Toby Parent as Co-Captains. Thomas Palmer was Manager and Richard Aube was Assistant Manager.

Girls' Basketball The girls' basketball team did not have a successful season, but they did have good team spirit. There were two Senior girls on the first team, no Juniors, one Sophomore, two Freshmen, and one eighth grader. Among the substitutes are two Juniors who started to play this past year. Due to the fact that the team is losing only two members and the others on the team are nearly all Freshmen and Sophomores, they should have more successful seasons in the future. The team did have a high scoring forward, Norma Lyman whose 284 points scored are a higher total scored than in any recent year. The starting team included: Corrine Aube, Forward: Joanne Laramee, Guard-Co-Captaing Norma Lynian, Forward-Co-Captaing Ellen Millham, Guard: Loa .Tane Palmer, Guard: Stella Place, Forward. Nancy Laramee was Manager of the girls' basketball team and Carol Eddy was Assistant 'Manager-. The substitutes were: Glenna Downs, Patricia Downs, Shirley Fonda, Beverly Irish, Katherine Martin, Pauline Plante, and Nancy Tracy. Soccer This was the first year that Hinesburg High School has played Soccer, therefore the team had a rather short schedule. Of the three games played one resulted in a tie with Shelburne, the others in losses to Essex Junction and to Bristol. Very few of the players were Seniors so the team should be greatly improved next year. The squad consisted of: Charles Bissonette, Stanley Bissonette, Wayne Bissonette, David Butler, Clyde Carpenter, Robert Duell, Newton Francis, Michael Hart, Ronald Machia, Harry Martin, Ernest Millham, Dennis O'Brien, Thomas Parent, Giles Place, Larry Shea, Donald Smith and LeRoy Smith.
