HINDSUNIAN 1988 TABLE OF CONTENTS Opening Administration, Faculty and Staff Classes Organizations Sports HINDS COUNTY AGRICULTURAL H.S Utica, Mississippi 39175 Volume XII TODAY TOMORROW This year's llizzdwzzmzz is a reflection of life - our life as students here at Hinds A.H.S. today, the life we'll look forward to seeing tomorrow, and ol' course, the life we've always dreamed would last forever. As we meer once again, upon the opening ofthe school year, we will meet for what we know as today. Tomorrow will lie a new day for those who wish to make more of themselves, reach their goals, and strive to be the best. The Hinds A.H.S. stalilihas gone to great length to capture the spirit of our students as they strive to achieve ac- ademically, socially, and athletically. The yearbook displays the various achievements and activities that the students, faculty, and staff' have accomplished this year. What a great year it was! New friends were made, and old friends were once again reunited. There were good times and bad times, happy times and sad times. It was a year to top all years! The week started off rather BUNK, but with the help of the students and Principal Langston, the '88 seniors initiated a week of fun-filled activities. The activities included the following: 5O's and 60's Day, Baby Doll Day, MixfMatch Day QBoys dressed like girls, girls dressed like boys - as you can see this was most enjoyablel, Tacky Day, and to boost our school Maroon and Gold Day was the Grand Finale. The Hinds AHS Bulldogs hosted the Byram Bulldogs at The Yard, At the half, the score was 50-O with the Bulldogs in the lead. During halftime the band, accompanied by both drill teams, saluted Mr and Hiss Hinds with You've Got It All by The jets. Mr. and Miss Hinds, Walter and Kimberly, gave their acceptance speeches to an awaiting crowd. After halftime the football team rallied on to a tremendous lead. As the minutes ticked away, the fans and Dawgs went wild, for the Real Dawgs had won the Homecoming '87 game by a score of 42-8. Es: CATCH THAT BULLDOG FEVER! Eventually the slops could find their way to the Annex, New Building, cafeteria, restrooms and if they really tried, they could learn not to be late for their classes. After they were able to accomplish those small tasks, they found school to be quite enjoyable. 4 1' 'Wx P-M-UZ'-'Ondffl .lifvfi I2 .,-... Y . fry mi, . 'ii . 'Jr CLASS OF 89 IS REALLY DEVIN JU ioas Not at the top, but no longer at the bottom, the '87 juniors saw this year as a time to relax and enjoy being caught in the middle. Now, the juniors don't have to worry about being classified as a slop - that's in the past, no need to worry about graduation - that's in the future. The juniors' only concerns are ordering class rings, getting prepared for the ACT, planning the prom, and simply trying to pass to the 12th grade. f 7 W. f f 1 ' I l , WN ,e ffl 4 Q' A f fx 1 Q U 3 sf , Q93 f - f , -3. ., V 2 King 'G 2 ma Q Ni' U3 r-4 w ia- ' , 1 V I i lf! Now's the time for senior proms, military balls, rushing to study for Mr. Johnsons test, scraping up money to take the ACTXSAT over and over again, and making that big decision - Where do we go from here? But we didn't let all the responsibilities and expenses spoil all our fun. The year of '87-'88 was definitely the best year ever as seniors brought the school back to life with new ideas, smiling faces, and plenty of BULLDOG SPIRIT. Yes, this year was surely a year to top all years - as the class of '88 set the stage. However, we depart and go out into the real world, let us always cherish the memories and good times shared by the class of '88 at, near, and around Hinds A.H.S. - Markeetia johnson last!!! 1iiikiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiki 33333333333333333333333 1. The entire staff worked diligently together to compile a collage which reflects life as it existed at Hinds AHS during the 1987-'88 school term. We, as a group, devoted hour after hour to selecting these shots which show what was done, who did it, why it was done, when it was done, where it was done, and how it was done. As you ramble through our pages, may you reminisce pleasantly. May you recall all that helped to make this year your year - your very best year. Furthermore, it is our desire that the finished product will depict the joy, effort, and the pleasure that we, the Hindfonian staff, exerted as we put these memories together. We wish to express our thanks to those of you who provided us with material for the book. We could not have completed our task without your input. Most of all, we would like to thank our advisors for their expertise. Without their help, our job would have been much more tedious. lv JF' bnsf 96 Willie S.
