The 'Dogs fought on in spite of the many prob- lems that confronted them. Being un- derdogs never phased them. They al- ways hung in there because they never wanted to go down without a fight. ln spite of the odds being against them, they were willing to tackle all opponents. Some games were disappointmentsg some were miraclesg but they all were fun. This, we will reserve in our memories. Y The teachers at Hinds A.H.S. worked diligently with each other during the 1982-83 school term. This was the year for finalizing the AIM Plan. Above, Miss Gray, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Burnett, Mrs. Wilcher and Mrs. Stokes discuss the steps which should be followed in writing the revised AIM plans. Since the format was to be uniformed, the faculty members conferred with each other so that all plans would be similar and complete. As one big, happy family the Hinds A.H.S. faculty co-operated with each other to see that the plans were completed satisfactorily. In spite of the hard work, the trying times and the many demands, the faculty and staff of Hinds did manage to make it through the year with sanity and pride and a great sense of achievement. -13 SWE Mr. Eugene O. Many incidents occurred. Some were pleasant and some were not so pleasant. Many changes took place: however, some things remained the same. The faculty was fortunate to have Dr. Clara Porter return as music in- structor and choir directress. The AIM plans were implemented this term. Dr. Clyde Muse became Superintendent of Hinds AHS. Title I became known as Chapter I. Mrs. Mary Jennings, Mr. Michael Prince. and Mr. Bobby Huell became a part ofthe faculty. Mrs. Willie Wilcher became the new yearbook advisor. Barbara Thompson and Simuel Jamison did superb jobs as Miss and Mr. Hinds. Unfortunately, the Athletic Department found itself in a slump.Basically, all the students were about the business ofgetting a first-rate education. Miss Velma Canada became Mrs. Samuel Harris. Linda Gilmore served as president of the student council. Romunda Battle served as school reporter to WJMI. Building trades received its first female student. Maggie Wade spoke at the Honor Society induction ceremonies. Eddie Jackson and the Corinthiams performed during Religious Emphasis Week. Mrs. Myra Black resigned as secretary to the principal and was replaced by Mrs. Wanda Manuel. FFA won a number of trophies through their competition in various contests, The JROTC classes and the AIASA Club sponsored projects to give gifts to needy families and unfortunate children during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The band and JROTC participated in the Mardi Gras Parade. All these things and more we will cherish as the factors that made our '82-'83 school term something to include in our memoirs. 80 li I fig ,W Y CUTE COZ COUPLES .,f,,qv ' 5 'FQ 'V+ 11?
