HOMECOMING GAME KICKOFF Homecoming uas held during the week of September 23-27. Monday was Sloppy Stu- dent Dress Day, the Slave Sale and the voting of king and queen. Tuesday uas Back to 50's Day and the Volleyball Game at Chisago Lakes. Wednesday uas the Rock Band Concert. Color Spirit Day, along with the Pouder Puff Football Game made- up Thursday's schedule. Coronation took place on Friday at tuo o'clock, uith Master and Mistress of Ceremonies, Art Gilliland and Jeanette Schroeder, introducing the attendants and the King and Queen candidates. After the presentation of the sceptor and the dozen roses, Kent Wicklund and Candy Conat were officially crouned by last year's King and Queen, Bill Scullard and Teri Dieter. The Homecoming Festivities uere topped off oy the game uith Taylors Falls and dance uith music provided by Jigsau. Master Mistress of Ceremonies SLAVE SALE SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY The spring play of 197L uas called Spoon River Anthology. It uas based on the book of the same name by Edgar Lee Mas- ters. The play uas entertaining and pouerful. There uas an aura of mystic- ism surrounding the people of Spoon River, Illinois, uho speak to us after their deaths. From the grave ue meet the many varied and deep personalities that made the toun of Spoon River func- tion. Husbands, uives, slaves, and pol- iticians speak of themselves. The au- dience developes a clear picture of the community from these people. The play is a camera uhich shous the people as they really are. The audience uas left to decide if they are evil, good, or just plain people. Featured uith the actors uere musical interludes supplied by tuo folk singers. The songs all come from the same periods as the play uhich uas just after the Civil War. The five cast members uere Beth Ann Gollv, Yvette Witucki, Alair Schmidt, Evan Mohrbacher, and Wayne Toule. The folk singers uere Terry Scott and Linnea Larson. A THURBER CARNIVAL This year's fall play was A Thurber Carnivalt by James Thurber. Featuring over forty students, twenty-three act- ors and seventeen crew members. This comedy review was one of the most suc- cessful plays in recent years for the student body. The play centered around the writings of the late James Thurber, whose short stories and cartoons were among the most popular in modern Amer- ica. Included were The Secret Life of Walter Mitty , a spoof on daydreams; Three Fables for Our Time , some dram- atized fractured fairy tales; and The Night the Bed Fell , an autogiograph- ical look at Thurber's family recently featured on the television series, My World and Welcome to It . The cast had a ball I The audiences, too! Another success for Hinckley Drama. iff . 7W A HAPPENING Sno-ueek was during the week of February 18-21, 1975. The ueek's festivities started out with the judging of the snow sculptures, Dress-up Day, and the Coronation. The Cor- onation began at 2:15 PM, with the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies, Alan Ladd and Karen Eiffler, announcing the king and queen candidates. The 197A Sno-ueek King and Queen, Rick Williams and Robyn Williams, crouned Jerry Lovgren and Brenda Mettling, the 1975 King and Queen. The snou sculp- ture uinners uere announced, the Juniors uon 1st place and the Seniors came in 2nd place. Finishing the day uas a basket- ball game at Hinckley uith Fredrick, Wiscon- sin. Wednesday uas Student Administration Day, uhere a feu of the students suitched roles uith their teacners. Thursday uas Mr. and Ms. Irresistable Day. George Holt and Nola Olson uere the uinners. Friday uas back to the 50's Day, uith a record hop at lunch and a 50's Pepfest later in the day. That night uas the seasons last game uith Sandstone.There uas a dance after- uards by the Cleavettes,.
