{ 044 'r CAt Uf In April 19 0 twenty-three Innocent little boys and girls began the long road to education In the kindergarten department of Hinckley High School. Miss Hanson, our teacher, patiently taught us to read and write our names. That year ve learned about Nip and Tuck. Thor began his twelve-year lessons In school behavior when he was threatened with a spanking. Miss Manchester managed to push us through the first grade, then left, never to come back. We really must have given her a hard time, for even Rosemary was sent out of the room. The only rest our teacher got was during our nap blme. Second grade with Miss Schlllewart was exciting. Ernie Joined us that year and gave all the girls a thrill,-----------—-—• We even built a post office. Remember the day Barbara sat on the dunce stool? Evidently Miss Schlllewart had an Iron constitution as she was the only grade school teacher who continued to teach after a bout with our class. Miss Kovey, our third grade teacher had the pleasure of teaching us to write. We wrote our first book report on “Hank and put on a puppet show about Jack and the Bean Stalk. Terry, Duane, Lester, and LeRoy started with us In the fourth grade. School was getting much more Interesting. It was this year that some of us began a musical career on the tonette. One day Don tried to drown the Janitor. After watering the flowers, he threw the extra water out of the window. Under ls Paulson's tutorage we did some chalk drawings, and Invited the other trades In to view our handiwork. As the fifth grade Bobca.s, we beat the sixth graders In basketball. That Is, the boys did, and ve won't mention how the girls came out. Jerry 0., Elaine, and Carol came Into town that year. In the alxth grade we showed our dramatic ability when we put on the play, Rip Van Winkle. We even wrote It up—with the aid of a comic book. Didn't Frank make a cute dog? Jim B. showed artistic talent and won the prize for his picture of the boy with the torn hat. The seventh grade brought Mr. Peterson with his dally opportunities and black list. Each one appeared on that at least once. Luella Joined our rank In the seventh grade. It seems as If the eighth grade showpd up all our meanness. We can't be sure, but It may be because Norma, Kathy, Ruth, and Art came that year, i rry spent more time out of class than In, and remember the day Norma and Thor had to go to the study hall? Dorothy had the honor of being the first girl to be slapped by Mr. Peterson. Ninth grade meant a change In homeroom teachers, but the same home- room. Mr. Tledeman now took over and we seemed to spend a lot of time writing sentences. Initiation was the high-light In our freshman year. Now we were really In high school. Happy year 11 As sophomores we had a different homeroom—half with Mr. Naddy and half with Miss Samuelson. Our Junior year was busy, but we wsre one more back In the assembly, 'e put on our class play, The Skeleton Ma'.and with the proceeds, we r.poneored the Junior-senior mrom with a them® of Havall . At last we have reacned the goal of seniors. Once more we are In the assembly, but with a new advisor, Mr. Hosklng. 6

If this goes through, It will be the greatest thing since last year's trip to Juolter. 1972 ELECTIONS ARE COMING UP Who will win? This Is the Question. Don R., Rep- ublican candidate for the presidency and Harold C. Democrat are running neck and neck. Who will be our next White House occupant? Chaffee's small but dynamic party-leader, Delorls G. Is certain of Chaffee's vic- tory but so Is Reed's party leader, Alvin Nordlander. Let's all get out and vote. May the best man win. 1958 WHAT'S NEW IN SPORTS Minnesota Proud Minnesota has reason to be proud of two of Its home state boys, Lester and Le- Roy K., who Just yesterday represented the U.S. at the Olympic contest In Europe and came away with first prizes In swimming.
