Old Man Law of Averages did notpay Hinckley a visit during the basket- ball season,as the Hinckley team found themselves at the end of the season with four victories and nineteen defeats marked up on the record book. One of the interesting highlights of the year was the Holiday Tournament. Inthe final game Hinckley, being victorious over Yorkville by a 62-51 score, captured first place. The boys who helped to win this honor were as follows: fSeniorsQ Stanley Michaelson, Paul Bastian, Don Rimsnider, Ronald Wil- liams, Uuniorsl Dallas Waldschmidt, Ronald Reingardt, Eugene Barr, fSophomoresj Robert Dwyer, Allan Wielert, fFreshmanl Dean Petschke. BASEBALL AND TRACK ARE IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES On Your Mark, Get Sei Go All boys who report for track are given instructions in the fundamental skills for all track events. In order to maintain interest and competitive spirit in practice,the team is divided into squads according to age, height and weight, and achievement stand- ards are set up for each boy. Three or four track meets are scheduled to give the boys an opportunity to participate with boys from other schools thereby enjoying social and recreative activities but, at the same time maintaining a sense of friendly competition and rivalry. James Eastabrook, Jerry Larsen Mr. Wood Asks for Cooperation Baseball, our national pastime, is Hinck- ley High's fall sport. Along with teaching the fundamental skills of baseball,the lead- ership tries to develop in each boy the democratic principles of leadership, in- dependent action, and harmonious relation- ship with other members of the team.
