MOST INTELLIGENT EVER ARE THE FRESHMEN Ronald Klein President John Voss Vice President Scholarship was no problem forthe Freshmen. At least that is what the First Semester Honor Roll indicated. They took their classes right in their stride and placed seven mem- bers on the honor roll in the first semester, thus earning the highest class average with one member making straight A's. Eight of the members went out for basketball with Dean Petscke winning a place on the Varsity Team. Nine mem- bers played in the band. Maybe they were green , but surely no dumb, The greenness soon wore off, however, and after initia- tion by the Sophomores, they knew they had arrived. At the end of each year the classes meet to elect officers for the coming school year. Popular choice for President was Ronald Klein, who is active in athletics. John Voss was elected Vice President, Toby Watne, Secretary, and Eugene Kupperschmidt, Treasurerg thus shutting the ferns out of any office. They are Freshmen now, andnot only have they arrived but they have come to stay--a place is already made by them--a place putting in a powerful bid for recognition. 28
