FQNTML J The shifting sands of time will change our school as we know it now. The moment, the four small years out of many, is all we know. The past is forgotten in little children memories, and the future is iust a promise, our entire world consists of now. We want to hold this now as it is. We will want to relive the days of basketball, State Fair, the senior bull and graduation. But the days that we know tarnish and all but perish. This original imprint will change for another generation and when we come back, we won't want their imprint, but the one we knew. Here we will capture it, and hold it, as everything is to us, now. If to H.C.S. we're loyal and the red and white and blue We will never tail to honor the school that made us true. It at work or play or pleasure pleasant memories will be bright Of dear old Hilton Central and the crimson and the white. The shifting sands of time will change our school as we know it now. The moment, the four small years out ot many, is all we know. The past is tor- gotten as childhood memories, and the future is iust a promise, our entire world consists of now. She has been a participant in the Youth For Understanding Program. Last Year, she acted as ahost for an Amer- ican girl from Michigan who was living in Denmark under the same program. Hilton students have en- ioyed sharing experiences with this fine ambassador. HCS Warmly Receives VIRGINIA VALDELLON Philippine Islands Traveling halfway around the world to become a student at Hilton Central School and a member of the Senior Class was Virginia Valdellon. With her con- trol ofthe English language, Virginia amazed Hilton students and her host Cathy Finlay. Her effervescent personality has been a welcome addition to our school and community. IRMA TAMMINEN Finland A truly unique experience occured this year when Irma Tamminen arrived in Hilton from Finland. It was with the Tamminen family that l967 graduate Gayle Malak had lived during her summer abroad under YFU. Irma has resided with the Franz Schwenk family. Quite naturally she was found to be a dept skier and a warm individual. Foreign Exchange Students IBRAHIM ZARGURPUR Afghanistan Very few people in the United States know much about the country of Afghanistan. Now, thanks to Ibrahim Zargurpur, our exchange student from that country, Hilton students have had the opportunity to learn about this truly unique part of the world. Living with the Edwin MacWilliam family, Ibe has been an interesting individual to get to know. W. ... . sr ' Learn with AFS, YFU Americans For several years Hilton has participated in various exchange student programs. The two most popular are The American Field Service and Youth For Understanding. This year local families hosted four foreign students. In return, four of our present seniors were fortunate enough to spend last summer in Europe, Asia and South America. Jill Fulwiler journeyed to Brazil and Tim Johnson went to Germany under YFU. Janet Smith, our AFS Americans Abroad representative, was placed in Japan. Under In- ternational Fellowship lncorporated, Barbara Cook visited Equador. Each of our exchange students returned with an interesting approach towards international understand- ing. Did you ever feel like your fanny was a triangle? d E I I S They laugh if you use the righttechnique. Fourteen Hilton Central students traveled and ton chaperoned the group which made its base in studied in England and France last summer under Tours, France. Included in the itinerary were Lon- the auspices of the American Institute for Interna- don, Paris, LaBauIe, Mont St. Michel, and Stratford- tional Study. Keep- ing this in mind, we have made several changes from the usual yearbook-- some to give Seniors the credit we telt they were due, some to appease underclassmen, some that were necessary for our budget, but all, we hope, to make a better book. Now we are anxious to see your reactions. It you like it, we will be happy. If you don't like it, at least you will remember it, and the Class ot '68 is one that will be remembered in many ways. ,l , lf 0 'Y A f - --fr: E: . The addition of indoor practice cages and a more experienced squad should provide the extra boost that the sport has needed. Tennis Ap? However, the maiority of the varsity members were from the class of '68, Roger Roach, Jim Hermance and Bob McCall, at first, second and third singles were the leading players. Carmen Scoppa, with Phil Way and Frank Fedele with Don McWilliams aided the team at first and second doubles. Substitute work was done well by Steve McCluski and Carl Pabo. The team compiled a 2-5 record. This year Coach Kroiz is hoping for an im- proved season. The running events were strong, especially in the longer dis- tances. Outstanding performances were given by Dennis Hackett, Charlie Ingham, Tim Johnson, Neil Custer, and Allan Strussenburg. However, Coach Buck looks forward to the coming season with high hopes, due to the return of almost all of last year's team. Skiing Becomes Sclwolosiic Sport SKI TEAM: burg. The In Club Goes Our B.
