L' .2 ff rv MR CECILW LUFFMAN C' HE past year has seen much progress toward providing for our mcreas ing school enrollment Parents and the community at large have con cerned themselves with educational advancements Centralization has taken place, a site for a junior Senior High School chosen and plans for the building are going forward Pupils and teachers must look forward and prepare for these coming improvements U il such time as the 'New is available, let's not lower our sights present educational opportunities Rather let us bend every endeavor to de velop ourselves physically morally intellectually and spiritually so that when opportumty for broadened educational facilities come we may be worthy to take advantage of them with profit to us and the community. AVES N October of our sophomore year we put on our Soph Hop with the theme of Fall ing Leaves ' Max Raney and his Hi Boys pro vided the music The gym was gayly decorated in bright autumn colors There were streamers flowing from the center of the ceiling which was very effective in carrying out the theme A won derful evening of fun and entertainment was en Joyed by all Y ITH the music of Gene Zacher and his orchestra the Senior Ball was an evening of wonderful danc- ing and entertainment. The theme of the ball was Midnight Masquerade. The decorations in the gymnasium suited this theme very well, with a big clock in the center of the gym pointing out midnight, and goblets with colorful balloons flowing from them. This gave an effect of gayety and romance. Next year more equipment w1ll be added Because of all these factors, Hllton Central has a rlght to be optxmlstlc about 1ts semor band. Thls was the spark that was needed. In the fall of the present school year, the choral call was agam sounded and the response was loud and forceful. Flfty four glrls turned out for gurls' chorus, and 32 boys for boys' chorus. Thls also meant a m1xed chorus of 86 volces. New umforms were lmmediately ordered, rlsers were purchased, and the choruses began rehearsals for the Chrlstmas program. The glrls performed beautifully under the capable leadership of Mlss Keller, as dld the boys' chorus and mlxed chorus under the directlon of Mr. Guenther.
