LYLLLM BBA BPRBLAPLD LALLA AP this year. 16 administration To touch the life of almost every student who walks through the doors of Hillwood High School is to accomplish the seemingly impossible. It is to attain the ever-demanding goal of teaching; it is to guide students to a more rewarding future; and it is to create keen minds and undying spirits which will help to pave the way for a better society. To one who succeeded in this way, to Frederica Rawls, we of the Topper staff dedicated our 1968 book. Mrs. Rawls has served our school as both teacher and counselor. Through the years, she has helped Hillwood achieve a position of respect among the institutions of higher learning. She has helped to inflict a spirit of the intellectual at Hillwood through serving as co-sponsor of the Junior Classical League, and of the National Honor Society and by persuading us to pursue courses of study demand- ing our best performance. Reflections of our years at Hillwood will always bear the impression made on us by Mrs. Rawls. Through her guidance we who are leaving Hillwood will strive harder to attain our ultimate goals. Planning for these was done by Gail Dean, Girls’ Vice President of the Student Council; Neil Anderson, President of the Council presided. Money raising projects were the consuming interest of the junior class this year. It sponsored many activities which the entire school enjoyed; a combo featuring the Jaguars and a cai wash were two such activities. In the powder puff football game with junior and senior girls, the boys from the classes were cheerleaders and the Pep Band performed at half time. Although the juniors won, the seniors fought to the end. A final promotion was Homecoming enthusiasm with the selling of mum corsages. All the money was invested in the Senior Prom.
