THE TOPPERS. . . . . . opened the 1965 football season whe n the Franklin Rebels upset I-lillwood on Topper territoryg b ut this did not st op the Hillwood defense. The Toppers ended the s e as on with a victory over the West Bluejays setting a 5-4-1 record, winning four consecutive games. Although victory comes with winning, pride comes in knowing thatgg-ur team, the Hillwood Toppers, play- ed eachgame with everything it had. They did not show that just a few boys went out for football, but that Hill- wood had a t e am fighting to defend its title. In doing so, Hillwood turned out an All-City and All-State quar- terback, senior Manley Mixon, who deserves recognition for his outstanding performance. ,WW The Phantom Strikes again! They use many media and obtain very interesting effects. The Art Club encourages appreciation of art by the arrangements in the display case and by the service ren- dered in preparing posters for P. T.A. events, festivals, and other departments of school. By learning exercises and participating in various sports, this is accomplished. The music department includes both instrumental and Vocal groups. In high school the marching band participated in halftime at football games and in the Metro Christmas Parade. junior high music is a brief survey of music appreciation and introduction to music fundamentals.
