ELEANOR WHITMAN Dublin, June 24-, 1915 KWVUIICZIIIZT student, clebalor, orator and friend Tlmfs Eleanor clear to the en-df, Activities: Basket Ball, 2, 3, 43 Captain of Basket Ball Team, 3, 43 Student Council, 4-g Girls' Sports Editor of Echo,', 11-g B. C. I. M., 3, 4. . Eleanor is one of those rare girls with a dual personality. She is very serious and studious riu all school work, but when you get her mind off of lessons she is a most in- teresting and fun loving girl. Eleanor is an athlete thru and thru. She is our crack forward of the Basket Ball Team and has been our Captain for two successive seasons. Ask Eleanor if she likes to write poetly or essays! She likes History and Trig. a lot better, she says. She's another of our deep thinkers, but don't think too hard, Elly, l have heard it said that it's not good for one, or -- it might not be. Hilltown High School will certainly miss Illeanor, but its loss will be West Chester's gain, for she intends to take up elementary teaching at that College. Here's luck to you, Eleanor who have prov- en yourself a real friend and pal. Farewell! Captain Elly! LAURA E. SHRIVER Fair Hill, Januaryf17, 1915 Laura Shriver is an efficient Miss, To be useful and busy for ber is bliss. Activities, He's My Pal, 4-g Educatin' Mary, lg Librarian, 2. Laura is one of the small girls of our Class, small in stature but not small in mind. She certainly can recite! And can she ,write and compose stories and essays? Well, she's just talented, that's all. We.ha ious girl and quiet girl, but she certainly did take her part well in the play indicating that she has also some talent in other lines. Although she has not shown her abilities in Athletics, she has shown them in her school work, a very good student. finishing school, Laura wishes to en- noble work to humanity as a nurse, ve always known Laura to be a stud- After ter the We are sure that such a self-reliant, likeable lady as Laura, will succeed in her conquest of life's difficulties. Laura has many friends of both sexes. My! It's either a telephone call or a letter from the - -. I believe that helps to keep Laura pleasant and hard working all day. I wonder what would happen if Laura wouldn't be all done up every day-a marcel certainly is attractive. Best of luck, Laura! I0

GRACE CASTLE Fair Hill, March 24. 1916 Those laughing eyes, and that winsome smile Surely makes this life worth while. ' Activities: Basket Ball, 2, 3, 45 Peirce Spelling Contest, 3, 45 Librarian, 33 He's My Pal, 43 B. C. I. A., 3, 4. , Grace is one of those graduates hailing from thefbig town of Fair Hill! But you don't know anything about her yet. Not un- til you see her play Basket Ball, or hear her spell and see what ability she has along liter- ary and poetical lines, will you agree with us that-she is some girl! She is extremely interested ,in books -- reading novel fiction or anything containing excitement. She seems to like reading better than any particular study. Grace is an efficient speller, which ac- counts for her being sent down to Peirce Spelling Meet several years. And as for the works that she composes, one might mistake them for works of a much older person. Her poetry is unsurpassed in our class. She takes an especial interest in the Fresh- men romn for some reason or other, for it's there that her dreams seem to come true. Oh, yes, we know you have your eyes on ANNA LONG' HAnnn Blooming Glen, November 26, 1914 Anna Long, a quiet 'gal' Sits and dreams, but she's a pal. When pepped up, she's in the 'swimi With fun. and sense she's going to win. Whenever you see a rather tall girl walking in the direction of H. H. S. about 8 o'clock every morning, it's Ann going to absorb more school work. She not only absorbs but she contributes in the form of reports and outside readings. Give Anna notebooks, some pencils and time to think every once in a while and sheis content. One never sees Anna engaged in Athletics, but you can surely find her elsewhere in the roam meditating, either on school work or - im. She seems to be fond of Problems of Dem- ocracy as are we all! ! Anna never told us what her intentions are after graduating, but whatever it is, we hope and feel sure she'll make good. One never sees Anna sitting around engaged in gossip nor finds her speaking sarcastically of the less fortunate humanity and this is one of the greatest attributes to success. She feels that if one can't say something nice about a person, he hadn't better say anything. that certain person! Grace thinks she'd like nursing and with a strong physical make-up as Grace's we are sure she would do very well. Best wishes for success, Grace, from Class of '32. . 9

VICTOR JEHOSEPHAT GRATIAS lfvicll Perkasie, R. D. 2, February 1, 1915 Whether a fheckerboard or Magazine, Victor is a ways on the scene. Activities: Educatin' Mary, lg Peirce Spelling Contest, 2, 43 'aHe's My Pal, 4g Vice President of Class, 3, 43 Business Man- ager of Echo, 43 Chaplain, 43 B. C. l. M., 3, 4. 'iVic',, as he is best known, is a friend and pal to everyone. If one hears a wise saying uttered after the teacher has made a statement, one can rest assured 1t's Victor at the other end. Victor doesn't take much interest in Ath- letics, but can he spell? This accounts for his several trips to Peirce Business College for the Annual Spellinff Contest. Women don't set-iam to interest Victor very much, hut one can never tell-the tide may change, some day. Victor is the big boy of our class, having the distinction of being 6 feet 1 inch tall. He rather bemoans this fact, because the job oi pulling down window shades or getting something from a rather high shelf, always falls to him. When it comes to deep thinking, UVic is right there. We are certain that some day he'll be a great lawyer or something like that. However, this doesn't seem to be his aim. He is thinking of taking up chemical engineering. May success be yours, Victor, in whatever Held you plan to excel. MABEL A. WENGER Perkasie, R. D. No. 2, April 10, 1914 If you want to meet someone cheerful and sweet, Go see Mabel, .vhe's a treat! Activities: 'lliducatin' Mary, lg News- paper Reporter, 1, 25 Class Reporter for 'iEcho, 1, 2, 3g Literary Editor for i'Echo, 4g Clee Club, 1, 2, 3, 4g Librarian, 1, 21 Assistant Class Secretary, l, 2, 3g Secretary of Literary Society, 3g Operetta, 33 'LHe's My Pal, 4g Basket Ball, 4: Censor for Literary Society, 4g B. C. I. M., 3, 4. Mabel has come from all parts of the U. S. - Cosmopolitan is the word, I think. Yes, that's right, I found it in my dictionary. She took her first breath in Indiana and has lived in Louisiana and different parts of Pennsyl- vania. Ambition, intelligence and vocal talent: all these are possessed by Mabel, who has used them to a good advantage. When Mabel's eyes sparkle with a mis- chievous gleam you know she is going to tease someone, but then, she has to take her share of teasing, too. One of the nicest things about Mabel is her cheerful, friendly smile, and a very active worker is she, too. Her classmates have realized her dependability by appointing her Liter- ary Editor, which is by no means an easy job. But hard jobs are Mahel's specialty, she can handle them so easily. Mabel is interested in Home Economics, and if opportunity permits, she'd like to take at course in it. Well, Mabel, here's wishing you the best of luck! ll
