Mr. Rhodes provided leadership and training for these volunteers. One hundred cheering girls in the Pep Club nearly lost their voices urging the teams to win. .1 It was check and checkmate when the fellows got together to play Electronics Club members provided the boys with chess. Mr. Talamantes sponsored the newly formed club that met every the opportunity to develop their understanding and Tuesday for fun and instruction in this game. interest in electricity and electronics. Preparing health kits for Nepal and kitty bags for Vietnamese orphans were two of the projects sponsored by the Red Cross. Mr. O'Brien en- couraged membership and participation in this worldwide organization to help others. 417 ' Doors to Excitement Swing Open There were clubs to fill any heart's desire. Boys in Electronics Club were given the chance to work with electrical equipment. Members of the Chess Club learned the basic fundamentals of the art while having fun. Other clubs met the desire to help others and to share good times with friends. In their first year as Y members, seventh graders learned about the Ufldef th? guidance Of MTS- Clafk, eighth glade Tfi'H5'Y,ef5 PHT' functions and fun of belonging to the club. Serving ls Achievin Old glory is in good hands as it is raised and lowered each day by faithful monitors while a bugler plays the Call to Colors. Some students choose to serve their school by working in the office, library, cafeteria or P.E. Department. It is really on thejob training for they perform their services in re- turn for a grade. Art monitors were a new services added this year to aid art teachers in distribution and supervision of supplies. The art teachers wondered how they ever existed without them.
