Although the foundation, basic materials, and sparkling and dazzling colors are now present, one element is absent-the artists. At Hilltop, each member of the student body, as a designer, con- tributes his own part to our school and benefits accordingly from campus life. Each person of the Sophomore, Junior and Senior Classes has his own artistic function in the realm of campus life. The seniors, the so-called big wheels of the school, can communicate to the underclassmen the thousands of adventures experienced, and the juniors and sophomores can profit from their knowledge and achievements, Likewise, through experimentation, questioning, and endless searching, underclassmen prove themselves to be valuable members of the student body. As in the medium of mosaics, the quality and intricacy of the final design is depen- dent upon the people who paint this permanent picture, so the unique and individualistic aspira- tions of each member of this provocative genera- tion adds variety and interest to the spectacular and impressive pattern finally formed. Colorful Activities Enhance Student life Released from the seriousness of mental activity, this zesty new generation shifts its attention to young ideas and fads, Zany clothes, dances, and entertainment mark this new breed. Creating sen- sations with the younger crowd in the fashion world are such favorites as granny dresses, boots, bell bottom slacks, and paisley ties, To match this wild and exciting look is the entertainment of the current generation. The frug, jerk, and watusi orig- inated by this eager generation are danced to the music ofthe Rolling Stones, Sonny 8 Cher, and the Accents. Athletically, surfing portrays the perfect picture of a generation in motion, while, in the entertainment field, the familiar names of James Bond, the Beatles, and Batman have also left their impression on the younger set, Finally, the go-go craze has attacked almost everyone in some way and is very definitely a trait of this generation on the go.
