MR. FRED N. MAHUNIEY PRI CIPAL Mr. Fred Mahoney, characterized by his affable smile and his friendly and warm personality, has experienced another fruitful year at Hilltop. Through his trust and inspiration, he encourages admirable conduct among HilItop's stu- dent body. Although directing the faculty and per- forming administrative duties take up most of his time, he always has time to get to know many of the Lancers. He always has a kind word or sincere greeting for everyone. All Lancers will remember him as that warm-hearted gentleman with short white hair and twinkling eyes who ex- emplified the traditions ofa true Lancer. Since an idol is one to be admired, Hill- top students in years to come, will look back upon Mr. Mahoney as a leader of dignity, integrity, warmth, and kind- ness.

Without the direction of the administration, little would be done to improve the physical and mental state and outlook of those who pass through this establish- ment of learning. The capable direction of the administration, which provided Hilltop's IDOLSQ the acquired traditions estab- lished by the administration, furnishing Hilltop's IDYLLSQ and their recognition of needed mo- ments of relaxation as Hilltop's IDLE MOMENTS made our three- year stay at Hilltop mean much in memory's eye. Standing out prominently in our memories of Hilltop's administra- tion will always be the IDOL, IDYLL, and IDLE MOMENTS. The images captured on this page will help us remember such symbolic events. IDOL MOMENTS, treas- ured forever because of the help of our understanding coun- selors on the first day of school and the dignity of the office of ASB. President at the most im- portant assembly of the year, will never be forgotten. IDYLL MO- MENTS, or moments of tradition, will be kept fresh through remem- brances of our principal's Home- coming hat and A.S.B. election posters that exemplify the tradi- tional competition for trust and honor of ASB. offices. Of course. there were also pleasantly relaxed IDLE MOMENTS reflected by fac- ulty cheering on their co-workers during a Tournament Day compe- tition and three important people resting from the strenuous labors of keeping Hilltop's marching units the best in the area. Each student has had some connection with at least one facet of the administration: each student will he forever grateful for its kind assistance.
