Congratulations for being who you are! You are most fortunate to be graduating during such a whirlwind of events. A brief glimpse of your senior year mirrors a parade of startling experiences; some evoking sorrow, others joy. For it is during this time that your nation mourns the recent assassinations of two of its most illustrious sons; that you wince at the miserable state of foreign affairs; that you observe and inadvertently become participants in a struggle for the well-being and dignity of each human-being; and that you must even plan your own lives with uncertainty, for this is the condition of the times in which you live. And so--yours is an age of challenge! As you begin your new venture, keep in mind the advice of the Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius, who said, ''Understand, however, that every man is worth just as much as the things are worth about which he busies himself. Good luck and God bless you! Sincerely, Frances W. Schooler 11
