Mr. John Kulilowski Guidance Counselor Mr. Edward Gottlieb Director of Guidance FACULTY The smiles on the guidance counselors' faces: Mr. E. Gottlieb, Miss I. Mayer, Mr. J. Kulikowski, and Miss J. Tersillo, assure you that your future is bright. GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT The Hillside High School guidance department consists of a director of guidance, Mr. Edward Gottlieb, and three most capable guidance counselors: Miss Irma Mayer, Miss Josephine Tersillo, and Mr. John Kulikowski. Their main interest is to help the youth of Hillside High. Through close counseling and personal guidance, this department shapes today’s youth, the citizens and leaders of tomorrow. ATTENDANCE OFFICE Keeping track of youth on the move is the momentous task that the attendance office, under the supervision of Mr. George Sickles, must undertake every day of the school year. Collecting, compiling, mimeographing and distributing absentee sheets, issuing readmittance and tardy slips, and selling bus tickets for athletic events and the school bus are jobs of the attendance office. This department of the complex school organization performs varied and beneficial services for the students and faculty. LEADERS OF YOUTH MR. ANTHONY AVELLA Mr Anthony Avella, as assistant principal, supervises the Student General Association and various other student programs. As advisor to the Student General Association, he has helped the organization maintain its high standards as an efficient working body. All disciplinary problems are placed into the capable hands of Mr. Avella. Such problems are reviewed and the proper action is taken. In addition, Mr. Avella is instrumental in coordinating the activities of the student body and the faculty. Through his efforts. Hillside High School functions harmoniously. Dr. David Cancel I Psycholopst Mr. Anthony Avella, Vice-Principal Mr. Avella keeps abreast with his important correspondence.
