Town Approves Administration s Plan Dr. Branom Promotes Progress An institution of higher learning is predominantly a giving concern. lt gives to its students the op- portunity to advance themselves academically, socially, and spiritually. During his fifteen years of service as superintendent of schools, Dr. Wayne T. Branom has made this opportunity available to the students of Hillside High School. lt is this able aclministrator's philosophy, to keep abreast of the changing times to meet the individual needs of the pupil, that has sparked the growth of the new building facilities.

Administration Provides for Growth of Faculty, Curriculum and Staffs As leaves turn toward the sun, so the administration sought better educational facilities. In l939, .lack found a modern, well-staffed high school on Liberty Avenue, built by the Federal Works Agency. Guided by a devoted faculty, the student body benefitted from a fully inte- grated curriculum. There were six courses from which Jack was able to choose: college preparatory liberal arts, college preparatory scientific, secretarial, clerical, general and industrial arts. .lack chose one of these paths and began his climb. 7 VAL? for Additions Board of Education Guides Expansion Education is a double-rooted plant. One branch is the preparation ot the individual to lead a productive life, the other, to live cooperatively, respecting the dignity ot his fellow man. Whether or not education meets its goal depends upon its administrators. Hillside is fortunate in having a Board of Education which has wisely provided for indi- vidual as well as community expansion. Z x i i ? 2 , 5 Mr. Joseph Ram, President, Mr. Abe Charnack, T.
