Tennis - Softball One of the most successful spring sports was Tennis. lt was under the direction of Miss Bonnie Allison and was offered every Tuesday and Thursday during March. Some twenty girls participated, playing both doubles and singles. Meets with other schools were also arranged. Softball, under the direction of Mrs. Jean Pliska, was one of the most popular sports, having a large turnout of close to seventy girls, including officials. VOLLEYBALL TEAM ROW ONE, LEFT TO RIGHT: Shelley Johnson, captain, Susan Hatch, Diana Park. ROW TWO: LEFT TO RIGHT: Valerie Ratto, Jean Doble, Paulette Champion, Sue Herman. Volleyball Girls' after school volleyball met every Tuesday and Thursday during February and March. Under the capable direction of Mrs, Mildred Fox they enioyed a very successful season. Some forty girls participated, forming teams of around seven members each. After a tournament, the winning team was decided. The winning team, of which Shelley Johnson was captain, included: Paulette Champion, Jean Doble, Susan Hatch, Sue Herman, Shelley Johnson, Diana Park, and Valerie Ratto. Several playdays were also arranged among the various all-girl volleyball teams from other schools. ln one notable meet against San Mateo, the Hillsdale girls came through with flying colors. -108
