LlJ I'lel U10 In 1918 the Turner Cup award was started by Ray A. Turner who had been an agriculture teacher here at HHS for eight years. Mr. Turner, who is now residing in Washington, D. C. , as Federal Representative Club Leader, began the Turner Cup award to promote good citizenship and it has been carried on ever since. The Cup is an award given to a Senior student each year at graduation exercises to promote good scholarship. The student is selected by the High School faculty on the basis of his value to the school and its activities during four years of high school. Consideration is taken of the student's scholarship and citizenship as well. A certificate has been given as the syrnbol of honor since the cup could hold no more names. These people have had the honor bestowed upon them during the years: 1918 1919 1920 1921 1922 1923 1924 1925 1926 1927 1928 1929 1930 1931 1932 1933 1934 1935 1936 1937 Bert Stoll Bert Stoll Gertrude Schmitt Asher Schmitt Isabel Aldrich Joe Cascarelli Beulah Nichols Charles Payne John Meighan John May Doris Buell Charles Sweeney John Isbell Harold Moore Ola Gelzer Gerald Duryea Kenneth Bingham Virginia Foulke Robert Wheaton Hester Myers 1938 1939 1940 1941 1942 1943 1944 1945 1946 1947 1948 1949 1950 1951 1952 1953 Robert Warren Marion Smith Wayne Wilcox Martha Bishop William Friedrichs Con Gernrnill C.
