Class Prophecq We students of the prophecy committee who have worked on the prophecy for the class of nlneteen hundred and forty five have tried to present a humorous plcture of what we think our classmates w1ll be dolng twenty years from the plesent year We have used our 1mag1nat1ons to their fullest capacity in order to aehleve this goal Actually we ieally doubt that any of our fellow students w1ll be doing the things whlch they are dolng ln this prophecy but that all of them will have made successes of thelr llves Any similarity to what they will be doing twenty years from now and what we are having them do 1n our prophecy is purely coincidental and unlntentlonal The prophecy will be 1n the form of a broadcast The Voice nl Prnphecq Hello everybody mothers and fathers neighbors and friends and members of the faculty and the school board Greetings from statlon H H S broadcasting from its beautiful and spacious studlo in the Hlllsdale Hlgh School auditorium on the twen t1eth anniversary of the graduat1on of the Class of 1945 This program IS being brought to you by a group of four former hlgh school stu dents now partners in a string of radio statlons The purpose of this program lb to bring to you lnteresting and intimate side llghts on the lives of the students ln the year nlneteen hundred and S1Xty five Thls is Paul Coppeler bringing you his latest We Just ran into that rugged woman Martha Beck who was rushing to the hos pltal to see her latest husband who is sufferlng from 1nJur1es recelved in a famlly brawl Marthas first two husbands died from 1nJur1es 1eC61V9d in similar brawls Heaven help the poor boy' Martha talked us into riding to the hospltal with her We found ourselves r1d1ng 1n a Lyons taxi cab honored wlth the boss Bob Lyons himself at the wheel On the way we were detoured by wreckage caused by an explosion ln the E H Munn Experlmental Laboratorles We caught a glimpse of Harold who was so overcome by h1S recent fallure that we d1d not have the heart to speak to him After a ha1r ra1s1ng rlde we finally arrived at the hospital In pa slng through the spaclous corridors we saw Dr Marge German herself s ated at a huge desk about ten by twen ty feet in SIZE We found to our amazement that Marge was the head physlclan at this tour Walkmg across the street we were almost run down by a car driven by Ralph W1lSOH and Dale Lambrlght co owners in the Wllson and Lambrlght Jet propelled Aircraft Parts Manufacturing Co After abrief but convincing sales talk we were pursuaded to take a spln Kand we do mean splnj in one of their Jet propelled sky autos piloted by none other than the world famous test p1lot Wllllam Straub It was a thr1ll1ng ride but we decided to go rlght to ou1 hotel and rest up before taklng in any of the hotspots of the town later in the evening We ate dlnner at a new cafeteria owned and operated by Ellen Llttlefield and Anna Belle Monroe Very much lmpress ed by the fine food we lnqulred as to who the chef mlght be Imaglne our surprise to find John Teivol uslng his famous pitching arm to beat potatoes His assistant was Jean Bell inventor of Jean s Jello for Jumping Jlvers Leaving the Cafetefla we bump ed into Tom Fulmer and family on one of their rare nlghts out He had Just finished parking his hellocopter bus Cyes I sald busl 1n a parking lot run by Pam McGehee and Lois Taylor We asked h1m why they weie 1n this klnd of buslness and the prompt reply was OH THEY MEET MORE PEOPLE THIS WAY We then de clded that for further relaxatlon we would take ln a nlght club The most popular place 1n town we learned was Shirley Flreoveds Candle Light Club featuring for one nlght only the famous torch singer Tommie Bale As we passed among the crowded tables we were hailed by L G Beldlng andhls glamorous companlon the famous tele v1s1on star Ora Marie Groeneveld While rem1n1sc1ng with our old BUDDIES found that Ann Huggett IS now a blllloneress fi om her many marrlages She IS Amer lcas most popular dramatic actress now playing ln Bob Slllivans latest play Up In The A1r After a most engoyable com 91 satlon we casually departed Following a sug gestion of L G s we took a bus to the Whetsel Dougherty home where a typical Class of 45 brawl was going on Chattlng wlth Dlck and Pat on the porch before go ing 1n we were mformed that they now raising Angora rabbits and little Whetsels Golng 1ns1de we found many members of the old gang telling the1r latest experlences of their lives Sally Douglas told us that she was the owner of the Douglas Drapery 27 - . , . . , . havlng become very wealthy from hls burlesque shows off ei ed hlS services to the diplomatic department of the government and was appointed am bassador to Antarctica where he IS trylng to promote a burlesque show for penguin Ma1z1e Rodgers IS helping ln the Offlclal capaclty of ahhh uh h yes publlclty agent Wanda Lugar takmg a few weeks vacation from d6SlgI11I1g wigs and costumes for Hollywood informed us that Don Sato has developed many new varletles of frult on his farms ln California The party was suddenly lnterrupted by the sound of fire and pollce slrens coming down the street Rushing out of the house we saw that they had stopped at the homes of Virginia Flowers and Vivian Fouty Still continuing the1r frlendly httle feud Vlrglma had set fire to V1v1an s house while Vivian had tried Lldkea had gone insane from l1v1ng cooped up too long 1n a small town he IS sharing a padded cell wlth Robert Perrin who after almost twenty years playing the drums 1n a broken down dance band finally went to pleces and started using his kid s head for a drum Car Bessie because of her Job of packlng and shipping freight down at the statlonl Cecilia sald that Phyllis still plays third comb with a hlll billy band on Saturday nights Leavmg the party a httle early we went dlrectly to our old hangout the Pal ace of Sweets which IS under new management Lillian Arch Marllyn Bunday and Norma Oberlln are the new owners We asked the gals where we could find lodglng for the nlght and they dlrected to the Donihue Hotel It seems that Barbara couldnt find a house blg enough for her family so she went Francls Attracted by a crowd milling around at one end of the mldway we were suddenly confronted by a large yellow and purple tent which featured those two famous fortune tellers palm readers and watch crystal gazers the great Marge CMagg1e McHenney and Norma fKnow1t ally Thayer Heplng them to hold thelr customers hands while telling their fortunes were none other than Norma Englehardt and Ruth Coler We also noticed that Debbie Neal kept having the girls read her palm ln order to fmd out which man ln her life was to be her one and only We were led by our nos s to the nearest tent where we found to our surprlse Phil Collins and ROSIG Cummins selllng hot dogs Handy man around the place was George Zlmmerman who put the mustard on the hot dogs for them Buzzlng back uptown 1n a hellcopter we were picked up for speeding by Dick Mllls sherlff and his asslstant Dlck Sanford We were helped out of this tlckllsh situation by the Reverend Mary Freed now head of the unlon for
