W E ' d b I Annie Sullivan, The Miracle Worker , came to the Keller a S n I Y homestead in Alabama from Perkins Institution for the Blind in Boston. There, she had learned to see and was prepared to help other children with blindness or deafness. This play told the heartbreaking story of how Helen Keller came to see. The Miracle Worker A doctor examines Helen Keller during her long illness which caused her blindness and deafness, and reassures her worried parents that she will live. ,Wm-rv,, The blind Helen Keller tries to learn the mechan- ics of talking by imitating the movement of Percy's lips. Annie Sullivan says goodbye to Dr. Anagnos and her blind friends at the school for the blind before leaving to become Helen Keller's teacher. 64 'A . VW' ffl Aunt Ev suggests getting a teacher for Helen as she wit- nessed one of her frequent tantrums of frustration. Z Annie Sullivan battles a defiant Helen in order teach her the proper way of eating.
