Coach Yost felt that the class of 1980 was able to work well together with the administra- tion and faculty to promote the involve- ment and spirit found in the BIG RED. John Pop Green has been a member of Hillsborough High School's faculty since 1970. 'During these years, Pop has become a man known for his faith, his concern for his students and his strong beliefs. One of his often used quotes was lf you desire friends you 9' 4 .5 Q7 X- must first show yourself to be one. Besides participating in promoting the Big Red spirit, Pop Green was also spon- sor of MATS Club, for fishing is one of his favorite recreational Interests. Pop felt that this year there was additional spirit found in the students. Pop Green's quote, Long live the Big Red applies to all True Terriers. With great pride we dedicate the 1980 Hilsborean to Mr. Mark Yost and Mr. John Green.

The recipient of this traditional award is one who has contributed to Hillsborough High by involving himself with the student body. They, in return, respect and admire him. He exemplifies the spirit and pride that has always been part of the BIG RED. This year, for the first time, two people were chosen by the Senior class to 1 receive this honor: Mr. Mark Yost and Mr. John Pop Green. Coach Mark Yost has taught at Hills- borough for six years, where he has become active in school activities as well as community ones. He has served Hills- borough as head Wrestling coach and sponsor of the Wrestling Club.
