School life at Hillsborough is chal- lenging for all. The start of a new year sees the unsure sophomore searching for the right room, students stumbling up crowded stairways, while others are experimenting with new techniques. Through the confu- sion and noise some even find the op- portunity to concentrate and study quietly. Located on Franklin Street, HHS established it- self as the first high school in Florida to become completely independent of all lower grades. Hillsborough rapidly outgrew its first little home. After oc- ' cupying a deserted livery stable for a short while, it moved to the Old Bap- i - tist Church. Progressing from one building to another, the school in 1927 finally settled in the magnificent ar- chitecture on Central Avenue that still houses the Big Red today.
