X Tennis team hosts state, regional meets The Hillsborough Community College women's tennis team under Coach Ierry Townsend hosted the FCAA-NFCAA Women's State Iunior College Tennis Tournament April 6, 7, 8. Mallard, Washington track All-American By running the 300-yard dash in 29.9 seconds, Iames Mallard was voted All-American and a can- didate forthe amateur athlete of the year at the Tampa Sports Banquet in February. In addi- tion, Iames tied the record for the 60-yard dash with a time of 6.0. Another All-American on the team is freshman high jumper Sherman Washington who qualified for the National Indoor meet in 6'8 jump. Discus thrower Ion Newell qualified with a 50-1 toss. Ken Weiss is the coach.
