Plano Valdes coordinated the program with Doris Dickson assisting. A lecture series focused on the need for deepening Tampa's Harbor. Noted architect lan Reiner presented a slide series on the past, present and future of the city. Ianuary brought a visitor from the far north, Rocky the timberwolf, and a message about wildlife. Author and historian Marjory Stoneman Douglas and Charles Lee of the Audubon Society spoke on the Everglades. Growth in 3rd Century America was the topic of an all-day seminar. Alternate Energy Sources was the theme of a state-wide symposium featuring john Savv- hill, former director of the Federal Energy Administration. Regional experts discussed Tampa's water crises in May. LECA hosted the second annual conference on Restoriation of Coastal Vegetation in Florida.
