While in Chicago, they made their stay at the Morrison Hotel and spent two action-packed days touring the city. They also included in their schedule a visit to Don McNeill's Breakfast Club. Co-ca ptain Steve Jost, Fulloack 1956 proved to be a highly successful year for the Hillsboro Trojan football team. The final count stood at 6 wins and 2 losses, which netted them third place in the Cottenwood Valley League. The first game, against Buhler High, gave promise of a good season, as the team downed the Crusaders T8 to O. The highlight of the season was the game against the Marion Warriors when the Troians, after a tense third quarter, rallied to over-power the Warriors by a score of 36 to 21 . The two losses were incurred in games against Pea- body and Herington. Both games were lost by very slim margins. The B team also placed well in the runnings by winning 3 out of 5 games played-an indication of a fine squad for the coming year. Hillsboro High was further honored by having one of its players, Linferd Funk, left auard, selected for several all-state teams.
