Annual Banquet Held Thursday 225 Attend Annual Event of Hall Here Juniors to Fete Seniors at Annual Banquet' Thursday Members of the Junior class are completing plans for holding ol the annual Junior-Senior banquet to be held Thursday night in the new addition of the llillsbort Methodist Church, beginning at 6:30 P. M. Roger Burton is chair man of the junior class committee in charge of arrangements. 6:30 p. M- Joyce Dixon is chairman of the program committee. Miss Marjorie Treadweli and Dr. Luther Warren, four ol six home room teachers of junior and senior classes. INVOCATION was given by Rev Carl Ling, Methodist minister, Stuart Davis, junior classipresi- dent, gave the weleomeg John Rita tenhouse, senior class president. the response. Special music for the occasion was provided by piano solos, by David Kerr, and a vocal solo by Sallie Roush, accompanied at the piano by Rosalind Rhoads David played Emperors Waltz, The Blue Danube, and Tammy. Sally sang Sweet Violets. In the absence of John Henry Brown, president of the school board, Dr. McBride, vice president of the board, spoke briefly, voicing his appreciation for being invited to attend the function and stating that.,be was pleased to be able to attend as a representative of the local board of education. High School Principal Shannon made brief remarks of commenda- tion to the junior class for a job well donejl and also expressed Pleasure upon being afforded the opportunity to attend the banauet. Home room teachers for the twt classes will serve as chaperoncs including Glenn Knechtly, lvlrs Mary Murphy and Miss Marjoru Treadwell for the senior class rooms: George Williams, Johi Bryant and Dr. Luther Warren junior classrooms. Johi Rittenhouse, senior president. wil ll . give the response. gflfgx M3 46 ' :i SH k Karol Williams Selected Queen Fo: Junior-Senior Prom Miss Karol Williams, Hillsbort High School senior, was sclectet Wednesday by popular vote oi b0ys of the senior class to reigr as prom queen at the annual jun ior senior prom to be held Friday May 13. Selection of the queer was made in the traditional man- ner, with nominations from the general assembly of senior boys, followed by voting on candidates. Male members of the junior class met Thursday at 9 A. M. and nominated a slate of candidates for attendants, from which six junior girls were elected to serve as the queen's attendants at the prom. Attendants chosen were: Cheryl Wardlow, Linda Pieffer, Beverly Gray, Carol Williams, Judy Blank- enship and Mary Ann McCarty, They will attend the queen and DH1'iiCiDHte in ceremonies during the prom.
