I sfnlll CLHSS HlSlllllU September 4 l947 was a red letter day for us Freshmen Thus marked the begrnnrng of our hugh school career Mrs Forrest and Mrs Gor don our home room teachers took us under tnerr wrng and we began to settle down to the darly hugh school grand Our class offrcers were Joan Rennhardt President Marvin Durham Vrce Presudent Ruth Muller Secretary and Harley Heffner Treasurer Our Sophomore year was uneventful Class otfrcers were Donnre Whntaker Presrdent Ball Prrvette Vice Presrdent Becky Mangum Secre tary and Ball Teer Treasurer Mr Auman and Mrs Rosemond were our home room teachers Under therr expert supervnsron we somehow pro gressed to that glorrous day when we became Junrors Now we were sophrstlcated Juniors' We started off wrth a bang by electing our class off: cers Ruth Muller Presrdent Kenneth Brown Vrce Presrdent Joan Rernhardt Secretary and Donnle Whitaker Treasurer Our frrst bug job was tl e Halloween Carnival This was a great success despute the pouring ram Mr and Mrs Jrm Rrttenhouse drrected the Junror Play Grandpa Hangs The Holly We had trouble getting unto a dramatic frame of mrnd but some how the play came out all rrght thanks to the Rrttenhouses' On March 31 we gave the Junior SSVHOV Banquet The banquet was hard work but on the brg naght we forgot our aches and pains and enjoyed the fun To celebrate our glorlous .lunror year we had a class party at New Hope Everybody had a grand trme Joan Ruth Mary Carolyn Belle Mary Jo Donnre Fred Phrlup Bull Teer and Roy Parker had the honor of berng commencement marshals We owe our success as Junrors to our home room teachers Mr Rrttenhouse and Mrs Snrpes Thrs as our great year' We are Sensors at last Mrs Campbell and Mrs Craig wrll gurde us through our last year at H H S Class offl cers are Kenneth Brown Presrdent Bull Prrvette Vice President Joan Reinhardt Secretary and Frances Reltzel Treasurer We had a tough job getting ads for the Annual but I m sure our ef forts wlll be forgotten when we see our Annual We are lookrng forward to a happy commence ment and a successful future However we wrll not forget the horrors of war or the need for frghtlng today In Korea Wrth all these thrngs an mund we the Sensor Class face the world wrth hopes and prayers for peace F K .ras we 1.
